Ballarat Tramway Museum

Ballarat trams are Ballarat history. Situated in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens this volunteer operated museum provides historic tram rides and a large display area. 

Ballarats trams were the city's main form of local public transport up until the early 1970's.

More than a dozen are on show at this museum located within Ballarat Botanical Gardens.

A highlight is the is the vintage electric tramway which, for just a few dollars, takes passengers on weekend ridesalong side the Lake Wendouree foreshore opposite the Botanical Gardens.

Trams operate from 12-5pm Sat, Sun, school and public holidays.Special group visits can also be arranged.
