Looking for some nightlife or maybe a quiet watering hole? As in the mid 1800s, Ballarat is a town with a multitude of choices for night owls and socialites.

The pubs and clubs of Ballarat offer a variety of entertainment, from pokies to rock, comedians to traditional jazz, fantastic cover bands to old movie screenings.

For the young (and young at heart), there are quite a few nightclubs and late night venues - in fact, there are 14 to choose from but keep in mind that Ballarat has a 3am curfew in operation. If you want to change venues during the night, be sure to make your move before 3am.

Many of the cafes around town provide the perfect sanctuary for a quiet bottle of wine with friends accompanied by a small bite to eat.
