Creswick

Established in 1851, by 1854 some 25,000 prospectors had flocked to Creswick, 18 kilometres north of Ballarat. Today this small town of around 3,000 people boasts a range of historic buildings which you can discover on a town walking tour.

Take the Creswick Miners' Walk to old goldmining sites from Creswick to Ballarat, check out Creswick Regional Park and the Creswick Cemetery Walk, and visit St George's Lake, originally created to provide water for gold sluicing and now a pretty tree-fringed area used for swimming and fishing.
